Subreddits are individual groups and forums dedicated to one specific area. Basically, subreddits are therefore a type of online forum but with content being shared and curated as well as being voted on.
Participation in a subreddit can be public or can be restricted to invited guests only depending on how the subreddit’s moderator has set up the group. Within a subreddit users can comment on these links and vote the content ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ which theoretically means that the best content gets seen first whilst the total pap gets left at the bottom. Reddit is a news aggregation site that allows users to share and curate links under pages known as subreddits.
