Inspired by a visit to the properly grandmother-filled Mecca Bingo in Hackney, London, Woo and Butcher started their version of game night five years ago, hosting it in small Brixton bars and east London warehouse spaces and The underground London party circuit for nearly a decade.
John Sizzle, a much loved and cult-followed trio who’ve been on Gay Bingo,Ī provocative evening of orchestrated bedlam and irreverent cocktail patter, is the brainchild of Jonny Woo, Andy “Ma” Butcher and D.J. Add a rousing game of bingo into the mix and you have one of London’s most popular monthly events. There’s nothing like an ensemble of messy cross-dressers paying homage to Vegas to really wow a crowd.
